Systematic Literature Review on Circular Carbon Economy

INHALT

This thesis conducts a systematic literature review examining the concept of the circular carbon economy, focusing particularly on the role of industrial symbiosis. The central aim is to identify industrial sectors that form part of carbon-based value chains, and to evaluate their potential to achieve carbon circularity. The study also investigates how industrial emissions can be transformed into valuable resources using Carbon Capture and Utilisation (CCU) technologies. Furthermore, the analysis will determine which industries would benefit from such approaches, thereby enhancing the circular use of carbon. Based on these findings, the study will provide strategic insights into the contribution of industrial symbiosis to a more circular carbon economy.
